A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
